First half of 2010

Wow, it's been so long since the last blog post. With using Facebook all of the time, I've been sharing a lot of pictures that way and not updating our virtual scrapbook. The pics below kind of sum up the first half of this year.

We started 2010 in Lodi with Angela and AJ - the boys had fun spending the night :-)

In February, we took a trip to Disneyland. Ahhh...to be in the happiest place on earth! It seems like light years ago now - we're already ready to go back!
In March, we took a trip to Portland to visit cousins Bart & Lisa and their boys Jacob, Anthony and Lincoln. We had a great time playing games at their house every night of the trip! We also took in some of the sights like OMSI (the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry), the Portland Children's Museum and Comedy Sportz, a family comedy club.

The boys have been enjoying their Taekwondo classes. A professional photographer (from Bella Vista, AR!) visited the studio and took pictures of the boys. They were kinda boring, so our friend Steph Monick volunteered to take some more fun ones during her photography class. They turned out great!

In May, Jeremy finished preschool. He was super excited for the "hot dog party" at the end of the year. We all gathered in a nice new park and had BBQ hot dogs and potluck. It was a special day for Jeremy - the first school party just for him. Here he is with his teacher, Miss Peggy.

May also saw the end of kindergarten for Aiden. His class had a graduation ceremony at the end of the year. They also had a hot dog party! I guess hot dog parties are the "in" thing for kids these days! Aiden was glad he got his own hot dog party because he was at school during Jeremy's and missed out.
We've been enjoying our summer so far. Drew took the kids to Funderland one weekend - that's just perfect for their age right now. Here are some silly pics of the boys there:

The boys have been coming up with some interesting games in their spare time this summer. Here they are one day, hunting for leprechauns, using their "gold" medals as bait. Ah the freedom they have when there's no school!

We just started swim lessons last week. The boys are in the same class together. Jeremy's moved up to swimming without a parent - a big step for him because swimming isn't always his favorite. It's been perfect weather so far - warm enough for the sun to be out and shining on the pool, but not so hot that we're melting.

Something new this year for our family was Summer Camp. Aiden attended camp at the Cordova Church of Christ for a week at the beginning of June. He wasn't so sure about being away at first, but after the very first day, he totally changed his mind. He really enjoyed himself. Too bad that Jeremy wasn't able to go, too. He was just one year too young. They will be attending a camp together in July - so Jeremy's been looking forward to that!

There were 170 campers this year!
That's a pretty good glimpse of our year so far - the boys are getting so big...that's what really stands out. Jeremy's starting kindergarten in the fall, and Aiden's going to be a 1st grader! How did they get so big? They just aren't babies anymore. *sniff* They do big boy things now, like play Xbox and wii and watch big boy cartoons like Avatar the Last Airbender. Aiden can read! He even loses library books like a big kid. :-) We're very blessed and happy that this year has brought us health and happiness together. It's been busy but fun and tiring but worth it.

Sending lots of love!
Maria (and Drew, Aiden & Jeremy)
