Monster Mini Golf

On Friday, we went out with the Masons to Monster Mini Golf in Rancho Cordova. The boys really enjoyed it and want to go back already. Aiden says his favorite part was the golfing. Jeremy says his favorite part was golfing. I asked Aiden what was really cool about Monster Mini Golf and he said, "it was cool when you hit the ball and it goes in the green hole then you can take it out cuz it's not really real". I asked Jeremy what was really cool about Monster Mini Golf and he said, "I don't know!" I asked Aiden what else he wanted to say about it, and he said, "It was really cool at Monster Mini Golf today, okay, bye. That's it Mommy. Excuse me Mommy I said that's it".

Bounceopolis

Maria took the boys to Bounceopolis on Sunday with her friend Sara and Sara's two kids, C.J. (6)and Kiera (3). Bounceopolis is an indoor play zone in Folsom with bounce houses, play structures and other kid stuff. The kids had a great time, and Maria and Sara were quite worn out by the end!

Red, White and Bruised: Sac City Rollers Roller Derby

Tonight after we got home from the reunion (see previous post), Maria, Holly, and Holly's Aunt Shirley went to the "Red, White and Bruised" Sac City Rollers Roller Derby Bout in Davis. It was a great time! Those girls are TOUGH with a capital "T"! But it looks like such fun. And it was certainly fun to watch. Maria's favorite parts were:
  1. The girls cool Derby names, like "Scandaliz", "Aman Destroyer", and "Stinger" (who had on cool yellow & black striped tights, like a bee!),
  2. the even cooler outfits that everyone wore, and
  3. winning the raffle for free tickets to the next Bout!

Holly's been going to the Roller Derby matches for a little while, but this was Maria's first one, and she took a liking to it! They'll be going back in August on those free tickets. :-)

Gonzales Family Reunion

Today we had a mini-version Gonzales Family Reunion out at Lodi Lake. It was a great day for it. We anticipated heat and smoke, and were met with neither! Whew! We really lucked out. It was really neat to see all of the cousins playing together. It wasn't that long ago that Maria's generation was the ones playing. Now it's the next generation of Gonzales offspring having fun messing around in the park. It was really cool to see. We had some BBQ, played some cards - the kids ran around and played ball and waterguns.

Happy 6th of July!

Our holiday weekend wrapped up with a visit from Drew's cousin Vincent, his wife Angie, and their children. They were passing through on their way home from a vacation down in SoCal at one of our favorite destinations...Disneyland! They also got to see some other cool sites like Universal Studios (and the wreckage left from the major fire there a while back), as well the San Diego Zoo and SeaWorld. They were a bit sunburned and a lot tired, but they were ready to celebrate the 4th all over again with us (they spent the actual 4th watching fireworks in Disneyland)!

Drew's Sacramento siblings (Gina, Dionne, Angie) came over to visit their cousin with their crews (Jocelyn, Alyssa, Vito, Heath) and we all did fireworks in the front yard after dinner. We were quite a crowd! We even attracted a few neighborhood kids... check it out:

New firework this year: LOL - it's a clown - and the eyes and mouth light up! (a little creepy)

Jeremy thought some of the fireworks were too loud (Auntie Gina agreed)

That wraps it up for now! Happy 6th of July!

4th of July

Hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July weekend! Ours was very busy. On Friday the 4th, we went over to the Mason's house for a BBQ Party and fireworks. Aiden played in the sprinkers in the afternoon (Jeremy was too scared), then we headed into the town of Lincoln for the fireworks show in the evening. We returned to Jake and Laura's house where we did fireworks of our own, including sparklers. Jeremy was a terror with those sparklers! Sparks were flying everywhere - he was swinging them in huge circles, really fast! But he loved it and everyone survived, so that was good. Check out some pics below:

Hope you all had a great long weekend! My next post will be our Happy 6th of July Celebration, which we hosted at our house with the Sacramento siblings plus Drew's cousin Vince and his family who were driving through town on vacation. See you then!

Welcome!

Hey guys - it's Maria again.

I missed having our Pascoal family blog, which neatly kept track of all of our activities while we were on vacation. So I've decided to start a new blog - the Pascoal Family Virtual Scrapbook. The old blog still exists, but this one will be for ongoing activities.

Looking forward to seeing you all online again!

Hugs,
Maria
