Day 4: Rest Day

We slept in today, which was a welcome reprieve. The days have been really long so far. It was great to stay in bed til 10am. We ate breakfast in our suite with some of the groceries we picked up at Von’s on Day 1.

When Aiden woke up, he came into our room and told us, “when I was laying in bed, I was thinking in my head that I would marry Belle. I was wishing that I would be fifty-sixty-hundred so I could marry her right away.” It was really cute. Aiden liked Belle so much at Goofy’s Kitchen last night.

The boys saw a flyer Maria picked up for a Pirate Adventure dinner theater. Jeremy said, “this is so awesome!” He was unfolding the flyer and looking at all the pictures telling us how awesome it was. We might hit that tonight during our rest day.

Drew took the kids down to the game room where they played air hockey. Maria worked on the blog and put the photos from the camera onto the computer.

We decided to go see Monsters vs. Aliens in 3D in Downtown Disney. We really enjoyed that movie last time we saw it, and the 3D is really good these days. It’s pretty seamless and you can watch it for hours. The kids really like that movie and they quote it already. It has lots of funny parts to quote!

We decided to go to the Pirate’s Dinner Adventure. It’s kinda like Medieval Times, but with pirates instead of knights. We arrived before the show for appetizers and a pre-show event. We got the background for the story and saw some games and stunts. We were assigned the purple pirate to root for – Saxton. We sat in the purple section. Our pirate was trying to be first mate. He didn’t win. But that was okay, because in the end, no one was really a winner, as the captain wasn’t a very nice dude (guess that’s what you get when u roll with pirates). Drew was called upon to participate in the show. Why do they always pick him? He’s been the pallbearer for the Suspects Murder Mystery, an extra in the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular at WDW, and now a pirate. He helped our section participate in a game. He did a good job, as our section won!

Another big moment was when they called some of the kids on stage. Aiden and Jeremy went up together. They dressed up in little pirate outfits and shot at the evil Captain. Unfortunately, Jeremy had to go pee, so one of the gals ended up bringing him back to us before he got to finish. He was really upset when he came back from the potty and the kids were done already. Luckily, the theater took a picture of him and Aiden in the costumes before that happened, so we had a good picture to bring home.

The kids seemed to enjoy the evening. They got light up pirate swords and necklaces to wear during the show. We had a purple flag to wave for our section, and we even took a picture with one of the pirates at the end. It was a good evening overall. We headed to bed early tonight so we can get up early for Disneyland tomorrow.

The best part of day 4 was: the kids being in the Pirate show.

The worst part of day 4 was: the kids weren’t in as good of a mood today. They were kinda complainy. Too tired, perhaps? Or too boring compared to our other days so far?

The weather today was: cool and breezy, but not cold. Sunny.

What we learned on day 4 was: it sure costs a lot to go to a dinner theater when you have a family of 4.

Quote of the day: “When I was laying in my bed, I was thinking in my head that I would marry Belle.”

Hey, they always pick Dionne for those shows too. Next time we should just leave BOTH of them behind! :P
